Everything you need to know before you start
What is a hypoxia chamber?+
It's a space or a piece of equipment where you breathe air with less oxygen than usual, at normal pressure, to simulate altitude. It can be a portable hypoxic generator with a mask or tent, or an altitude room installed in your home, gym or hotel. It's used for sports training.
How much does a hypoxia chamber cost?+
The price depends on the format: the portable AZN VO₂max units have an official price per pack (IHHT Pack, or Victory Pack with a tent for sleeping at altitude), VAT included and shipping within 48 h. The installed AZN Room altitude room is custom-designed, with a free technical assessment beforehand. You can check current prices in our shop or on each pack's product page.
What is a hypoxia chamber used for?+
For altitude training without travelling: your body adapts to breathing with less oxygen and gets better at delivering oxygen to your muscles. Athletes use it to prepare for races at altitude, recover better and perform better. Every improvement we publish is backed by a study.
What's the difference between the generator and the room?+
The generator is portable: intermittent hypoxia with a mask, or nights at altitude inside the tent, shipping within 48 h. The altitude room turns your whole bedroom into altitude: a generator in the technical room, a controller and no tent. Both use the same technology.
Is it the same as a hyperbaric chamber?+
No. A hyperbaric chamber increases pressure and oxygen; a hypoxia chamber reduces oxygen at normal pressure, just like in the mountains. They're different products for different uses. Altitude Zone equipment is sports equipment, not for medical use.
